I can heartily endorse both Packetfence AND Inverse!

We are using it for wireless NAC and are piloting using it for wired NAC as
well. So far, everything is going very well.

Our environment is:

100+ Cisco switches (3500, 3560, etc.)
100+ Cisco and Xirrus WiFi

We do use the new guest / self-registration feature.

MS AD backend

No virtualization

~ 4,000 registered devices
~ 13,000 unregistered devices

~ 3,800 full time students
~ 400 faculty and staff

Subject: [PacketFence-users] Looking for people who can recommend PacketFence

Hi All -

We are currently in the middle of implementing a NAC solution and it is not
going so well. If things keep going as they have been the last few months we
hope to be pulling the plug on the contract and starting with a new product in
the middle of June or early July. We'd like to talk over the phone with people
with a similar environment to ours if possible.

Here is our environment:

  *   Switches (60+) -- Mixture of Cisco (3548s, 3550s, 4006s at the edge and
3750s in the core) and HP ProCurve (5406s and 5412s at the edge).
  * APs (160+) -- Mixture of HP (thick ProCurve 420s) and Motorola (RFS 6000
controller with 6511s and 6532s)
  *   2500 full-time students, 700(ish) faculty & staff
  * Close to 5500 registered devices in the residence halls (TVs, Blu-Ray
players, x-box, wii, playstation, iPhones, anything you can think of...)
  *   Guest Access
  *   Novell E-Directory user base
  *   VMware ESXi 5.0
If anybody has a similar environment and is willing to talk with us about their
experiences with PacketFence (and/or Inverse) it would be much appreciated!

Max
