I am new to Packetfence but have been working with systems and wifi for many years.
Looking to deploy PF into a campground that wants to bill using PF's billing module for a week's access at a time (something like $5), mostly to offshoot the costs of getting bandwidth into the (remote) area and make the ISP happy with the arrangement. Anyway, I am facing two issues. One is the reported bug 0001522 which we see in inline mode, which was chosen mostly to deploy fast and then move to vlans later when Ruckus fixes their issue with changing VLANs for open deployment. The second is that I've turned the billing engine on and done several different combinations of captive portal / registration setup - and the end result is that the billing screen just won't come up. Without going into the redir.cgi file and forcing it through the if/then/else decision loop, I can't see an issue with it either (I am not a full-time programmer). So at the moment, am stuck and would appreciate any help that is offered. I've considered using registration at the office (harder on the campground, easy for me) but that would be full of problems for all concerned. Thanks... oh, last thing: Debian Squeeze version, PF 3.5.0, two interfaces, one of which has a real IP. Anything else available by request... this is not a special/top secret setup or anything... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
