Hi,

I successfully managed to install and configure PF to run on debian. The only
trouble that I have is regarding the pre-registration of guests. When I
register a guest, the system will automatically generate a temporary password
together with the username. In this case I am using a Flat-File system.

When I try to login from the client, I get an error message "login name or
password incorrect". I read through the guide and I saw that I need to encrypt
the passwords with htpasswd since I am using a Flat File system. When I
encrypted the password, I was able to login successfully via the captive
portal.

In such case I have two questions which I need to ask:

1) The users.conf file was not present and I had to create it myself. Is this
normal or I have something wrong?

2) Secondly, do I need to use htpasswd every time I create a user using a Flat
File system? Is it possible that the user logs on with the temporary password
generated by PF?

Thanks
