Greetings:

I had started setting up packetfence to the point where it was asking
for registrations using VLANs. No problems. Well, there WERE but I got
through them.

So, I installed openvas (or thought I had), enabled scanning. I got the
page saying my computer had to be scanned and clicked the link that said
scan at bottom of page. Then everything came to a stop. Never proceded
past that point. I restarted packetfence and everything else I could
think of. But that machine gets stopped at portal that says it is being
scanned. I've disabled scanning in web interface configuration, but
still no go.

I tried to get openvas running (at least it seems to be). I can open
client and setup scan on localhost. But I'm not sure it's still
entirely correct. I have been working on this for 2 days.

The problem is that the documentation for openvas seems lacking. The
documentation link on their page simply asks if anyone wants to write
some documentation.

The documentation for packetfence is iffy at best. I have read the
administration guide several times. It's really more of an overview
than a real administration guide. I realize that inverse make their
bread and butter off of support, but I don't see that it would require
them not reallygdocument things. Lots of companies would just pay for a
turnkey solution, not everyone has good IT staff.

If anyone can help or point me towards some good docs for openvas and
packetfence I'd be greatly appreciative.
