Hi all,
I'd like to test out PacketFence with one of my routers to see if I like it,
but I'm confused as to how I should configure PacketFence in networks.conf,
pf.conf, snort.conf, switches.conf, and any other vital .conf file?
The one router I'd like to test it on has no DHCP server enabled and default
gateway at 192.168.1.1. The machine that is running PacketFence is connected to
that one router and has a static IP address of 192.168.1.101 connected at eth0
(If this is important at all).
Is another router or server required to run PacketFence, because it is asking
for Inline, VLAN- registration, and VLAN-isolation.
If another machine/router is not needed, how would I configure my machine to
run PacketFence? By using the different vlan eth0 with the same ip, gateway,
netmask, dns, and dhcp server for all of them?
Sorry for the abundance of questions, I'm very new to this kind of network
configuration.
Thanks,
Justin
