Hello all packetfence users I am new to packetfence and what I am trying to get
to work is the registration vlan and guest vlan with a trapeze mx800r
controller.
I have installed packetfence on Centos 6.4 and added all vlan and interface
configuration to the network adapter. I have added the trapeze controller to
switches
with proper configuration with production setting as it should switch vlan for
registered devices. I created two ssid one for self-registration vlan and one
for guest vlan.
The packetfence log and radius log show proper authentication success when
connection a registrered device and rejects unregistered devices on the guest
vlan.
But to my understanding when packetfence detects registrered devices it should
deauthenticate and switch vlan for registered devices. This does not happen on
my
Controller. I could append some configurations and maybe explain more about my
setup if anyone can help. The setup that I want is for BYOD devices so visitors
can
Self registrer their devices and guest access passed can be created and handed
out for BYOD devices. The configuration step I created first time i fired up
the admin page
Was for vlan enforsment but this failed because centos and packetfence has some
interface configuration issue going on so I could never assign management
interface and
Vlan interfaces however when selecting both inline enforcement and vlan
enforcement seem to get packetfence and centos interface working together on
the regards of
Assigning vlans and interface addresses. So now I have a working registration
vlan with packetfence hosting dhcp and dns and a secure guest vlan with radius
authentication
To packetfence radius. But when registration is complete on the registration
vlan the device does not get deauthenticated and does not switch vlan. Anybody
else have
Any success with trapeze and packetfence for wireless guest access?
