Hi list,

I have a strange location problem:

I have a floating device (sw71, 00:19:bb:6d:2a:00) hooked up to a floor
switch (sw54, c0:91:34:ca:2f:80).
sw64 (00:26:f1:51:17:00) has been taken out of service because of HW
problems and replaced with sw11 (c0:91:34:e3:7a:c0).

Although all MACs are correctly configured in PF it seems as if PF mixes
things up:

root@packetfence-mgt:~# ~/pf/bin/pfcmd floatingnetworkdeviceconfig get
all | grep 00:19:bb:6d:2a:00
00:19:bb:6d:2a:00|134.104.29.71|no|1|100,101,102

~/pf/bin/pfcmd switchconfig get 134.104.29.71
134.104.29.71|HP::Procurve_2600|production ...

~/pf/bin/pfcmd switchconfig get 134.104.29.54
134.104.29.54|HP::Procurve_2900|production

~/pf/bin/pfcmd switchconfig get 134.104.29.11
134.104.29.11|HP::Procurve_2900|production

# decommissioned but kept for reference
~/pf/bin/pfcmd switchconfig get 134.104.29.64
134.104.29.64|HP::Procurve_2900|production

sw71# show lldp info remote-device
 LLDP Remote Devices Information

LocalPort | ChassisId           PortId SysName
--------- + ----------------------------------
50        | c0 91 34 ca 2f 80   45     sw54

sw54# show lldp info remote-device
LocalPort | ChassisId           PortId SysName
--------- + ----------------------------------
45        | 00 19 bb 6d 2a 00   50     sw71

And this is the inconsistency:

root@packetfence-mgt:~# ~/pf/bin/pfcmd locationhistorymac 00:19:bb:6d:2a:00

sw71 was suddenly switched to the decommissioned sw64 although it never
moved anywhere.

The WebGUI shows the same mismatch.

No matter what, but how would I go about fixing the DB?
Is there something like: "Please rescan everything to see if the
location of the MACs match reality." ?

Any ideas or hints ... need more info?
Would an upgrade to PF version 4 straighten things out maybe?

Thanks for your help
Cheers Jan
