Oh, success, thou art sweet!

I think I have found the culprit. I noticed the default value for the URL
redirect included the trailing slash and my URL did not.

When I added the trailing slash to my URL it worked perfectly, removing the
slash causes the URL to be formatted with the FQDN of the PF host appeneded to
the front ... which does not work.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Ok, update time.

I tested it with the force URL feature disabled and the effect is the same,
with the URL being mangled.

Interestingly if I remove my custom URL and use the default URL of
http://www.packetfence.org/ the client is redirected fine...

We must go deeper!

Subject: [PacketFence-users] URL redirect error

Hello fellow PacketFence devotees!

CentOS 6.4 fully updated, PF v 4.0.2.

I am having a strange issue with the URL redirection that occurs after a person
registers and their access has been re-evaluated.

I have the options set to force the redirect to my university's home page after
the user registers but the URL is getting mangled.

Normally the URL should be: www.umhb.edu<http://www.umhb.edu> but the clients
are getting redirected to <PF Server>.www.umhb.edu ... which is not a valid URL.

<PF Server> is really the name of my PF server ... but for some reason I don't
feel too comfortable posing internal host names on the internet, hence the
obfuscation.

I have checked the settings and they look correct. Has anyone come across this?
