I created an AD source that works fine and added a mark as sponsor rule that
some mails on the list suggests but get Email is not allowed to sponsor guest
access. Im running latest version 4.0.5-2
Here is the packetfence.log output:

guest-selfregistration.cgi(0) INFO: Looking up username for email: [email protected]
(pf::authentication::username_from_email)
Sep 05 10:24:48 guest-selfregistration.cgi(0) INFO: Searching for
([email protected]), from OU=VFK,DC=login,DC=top,DC=no, with scope sub
(pf::Authentication::Source::LDAPSource::username_from_email)
Sep 05 10:24:48 guest-selfregistration.cgi(0) INFO: LDAP:found a match in
username_from_email ([email protected])
(pf::Authentication::Source::LDAPSource::username_from_email)

Looks like the rule works on the lookup side but not on the sponsoring side.

This is the condition and rule I created:

memberOf equals OU=AUTO ANSATTE,OU=BRUKERE,OU=VFK,DC=login,DC=top,DC=no

mark as sponsor
set role guest
set access duration 5days
