I have to setup a packetfence infrastructure using a layer 2 cisco 2960. I
have currently set it up in vlan enforcement mode. The vlan details which I
have setup is as follows:

My packetfence server has 1 nic card with 3 sub- interface.

The interface details of the server are as follows.
eth0 - 10.10.0.253
eth0.2-VLAN 2 - Registration VLAN -172.16.110.1/24
eth0.3-VLAN 3 - Isolation VLAN - 172.16.120.1/24

I faced the following issues

i configured 3 vlan switchport on the cisco 2950( vlan 1,2,3) and connected
1 host on each of the vlan. Each of the host were given IP address based on
the vlan assigned to them

hostA on vlan1 -10.10.1.113
hostB on vlan2 -20.20.0.113
hostC on vlan3 -30.30.0.113

host A is able to ping the eth0 ip address which is 10.10.0.253. but host B
and host C are unable to ping eth0.2 and eth0.3 respectively. When I ping
the interface i get a "request time" and a "destination host unreachable"
message alternatively.

The port that connects to the ESX server is a trunk port and the virtual NIC
card of the packetfence server is capable of vlan tagging.

What am i doing wrong? do I have to add an additional inline vlan.

please do help me in this regard.
