Client-side web browser validation is apparently what you're looking for. I'll add a second question and ask if a feature request would be welcome to convert the standard MAC address formats on the back end, rather than torture the users with using the correct format (or *gasp!* individual MAC byte fields that you can't cut/paste to) on the web form?
