Hi Boris,

it´s in the switch config.

Imagine you have a building A and a building B but the vlan id for the staff is not the same so in the bat A switch config you set Staff : 2 and in the bat B switch config you set Staff : 3

Fabrice

Derek,

Thanks! What I am not understanding then is how do I assign a VLAN to a role. Where do I do that?

Cheers,

Boris.

    Boris,

It is unclear how one goes about tying a role to a particular
    interface.

What do you mean by "a particular interface" ?

PacketFence is basically returning VLAN ID based on the role a
user have in PacketFence internal database.
By simply creating a new role and assigning a VLAN ID to it,
setting that role to the user will return the associated VLAN.

    Cheers!

        Hello all,

        Well hello there !

If I need to move a user's from one VLAN to another - how do
I do that as a PacketFence administrator?

You can easily create different user roles and assign
different VLAN ID to each of thoses roles.

Also, how do I make it so that a registered user is
registered for good once I register their device through the
        administration interface?

By default, there shouldn't have any unregistration date on
registered node. That is depending on the different rules
that you have configured in authentication sources.

        Cheers!
