I do it. With customizations. Works great. I thought I posted detail a few
months ago.

Ive searched the mailing list archives and can only find one thread
referencing using multiple packetfence servers with a shared database and
that was from 2010. At the time, the respondent suggested there may be
issues with the code. Just wondering if this issue has been cleared up?
We are unable to route the isolation and registration vlans across our WAN
on security grounds, however we would like things like a single point of
administration, mac to ip history and location information to be cross
site. Installing multiple packetfence servers, one per site, with a shared
database seems to meet the requirements but the previous post worries me.
We are prepared to have all switches communication with a central
packetfence server if that helps, with the remote pf servers just for
managing the registration/isolation networks and associated webserver stuff
for those remote vlans. Alternatively each pf server could manage their own
switches. Either way using a single database would provide the means to
register nodes only once and track movement around the companies sites.
Lastly for information, only designated administrators are allowed to
register nodes, but the registration and isolation webpages serve to warn
anyone not following procedure.
Anyone able to confirm either of these two scenarios work with the current
4.3.1 or put forward an alternative?
Thanks
Martyn
