Hi Max,
There’s some good guidance in the admin guide to implement eduroam and PF which
covers the majority of the config. We required some extra bits here as we
wanted to split off local users to visiting users, and so did that through the
getnormalvlan subroutine in the vlan/custom.pm file with some regex decisions.
However that has changed in the more recent versions of packetfence, and I’m
yet to try out the new vlan filter options, which should be able to do this for
you I’m guessing.
One thing to bear in mind is that you will need to enable auto-register with
eduroam, as it breaches the T&Cs to force users to fill in a form to sign in in
order to gain access. Again we do this using the custom.pm file and user the
dot1x credentials.
Cheers,
Andi

Subject: [PacketFence-users] eduroam and PF
Hi all -
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who uses PF and eduroam together.
We've been on PF for a couple years now and I am just starting to investigate
eduroam. How easy to the two systems tie into each other?
What considerations should I take as far as VLANs, subnets, etc... when dealing
with eduroam?
Thanks!
Max
