in node.pm on line 492 for 'last_skip' because the column name is 'lastskip' in

I only see 5.1.73 available at the moment.
I have tested PF with versions of MySQL up to MariaDB 10 without this problem,
but obviously a later release may be different.

Nope. MySQL on the external machine is only being used for PF. I made a default
yum install of latest mysql-community-server and it installed with those
settings.
For the record, what distro and release is the external server running?
