No. The migrate script is a helper. If it does not fit your own needs you may
be better off just reconfiguring.
If you have edited your smb.conf and /etc/krb5.conf files presumably you know
what you are doing.
That is not going to take a long time anyway.

Please tell us more about your problems using 2012R2.
We just installed one in lab here and it works as advertised.

I disagree.
I just did that here without problems.
I believe the issues stem from incorrect understanding and/or expectations.
