Hi Fabrice,

thank you for the quick answer!

the server is headless right now which makes that kind of impossible atm.

The process "apache2" is running and listening to port 1443, yes.

Magnus

Hi there,

I'll keep it short and simple:
I want to install PacketFence on Debian 9.9 (Stretch)  for a local LAN event.

For this, I have installed Debian 9.9 minimal with the netinstaller from my USB stick. (Nothing else but "basic system utilities" selected). I have disabled apparmor and selinux (although that shouldn't be active on Debian 9 anyways) and disabled the nameserver-hook in "dhclient" (resolvconf not installed).

After adding the Inverse repository and installing PacketFence, I seem to be unable to complete the configuration. For some reason, when I try to open the panel on :1443, the connection gets reset.

Looking into the logs, I can see that PacketFence seems to be unable to connect to the database server and there's no database section in "conf/pf.conf.default" and "pf.conf" is completely empty. Normally, I would just create that db user but I fear messing up something by doing that before the actual configuration (and I don't know the password PF is trying to use anyways).

I have already searched through various resources online but they seem to be littered with outdated or just related issues and did not help in my case. (I've re-installed the system before each try to make sure they don't interfere.)

How can I go about to solve this?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

Magnus Leßmann
