Ludovic, We are using SNMP traps. We are seeing the traps and the devices are being put into the correct vlan at the switch interface. In most cases we are seeing IP and hostname information in PF display for the node, in face we see hostname except for devices that are in vlans that are managed by another agency, if we manage the DHCP for the vlan/network range we do (almost) 100% see hostnames, however we miss the IP address for measurable percentage of the nodes.
I did configure a udp-reflector on the DHCP server, and I do see traffic being received on the PF server, but I see nothing logged in the listen log, so it may be that the listener isn't correctly configured, but I've failed to unravel that issue. I would have thought that because I do have IP information for most (very large percentage) of the nodes that whatever that mechanism was, is working correctly, the reflector was my attempt as a second change to catch the DHCP traffic. I may be barking up the wrong tree.
