Timo:

That is the IP or DNS name of your LDAP source as referenced by port 389.  
Seems a little odd to me that if you join to the domain you still need to use 
LDAP.  But that’s what I have come to learn.

I just started getting familiar with this product, and following installation 
guides to try and test this out.

I got AD joined and ‘Realms’ configured as explained, but when trying to create 
new authentication source, it says I have no hosts to select from:

Been trying to google this issue and email archive, but I just can’t seem to 
find anything about this.
