This change was intentional in order to show the natural order without
asserting a default search criteria in the UI. It fixed performance issues with
default views using non-indexed columns in the search criteria (eg: mac !=
NULL), which was causing heavy MySQL queries - temporary tables - in large
deployments.

In v12 all the default views are expected to perform well in most deployments,
while the user still has the ability to define criteria at their own risk by
adding a “and” statement .

Subject: [PacketFence-users] Essential differences in PF ver 11 and 12 that
seem disadvantage for ver 12

Hello,
I’m rebuilding my would production PF server to be on ver 12 and I discovered
some discrepancies in the Nodes page namely in the search capabilities and
functionality
Here’s what I see on the Search field if I click plus sign on the Search button

[cid:image009.png@01D91136.D8020EE0]

Same page on ver 11 looks this way

[cid:image010.png@01D91136.D8020EE0]

As you see, the latter is more advantageous in terms of search options, I can
select many criteria easily as opposed to ver 12 where I need to supply this
search criteria by guessing how I can do it
