Hi,
mpd's init script contains
Required-Start: alsasound
but this is pointless for servers where mpd merely streams to an icecast
or similar. I therefor suggest
X-Should-Start: alsasound
instead. At the same time, X-Should-Start: icecast
should also be present to try avoiding starting mpd before icecast.
