I've forwarded a message between myself and a blender user about blender-2.57b which at the moment is only available in my openSUSE home:plater:blender repository. Unfortunately it can't have ffmpeg support there and that's the only place it can build with python3-3.2 which blender uses. I'm busy patching blender to build with py 3.1 but even when I've finished that task there's no guarantee that it will work 100% and my time will be wasted when it could be better spent on other things like mjpegtools-2.0.0rc1 or lilypond. There is no technical reason why python 3.2 cannot be made available in Packman, it is 100% more stable than python 3.1 and completely backward compatible. It was created to coexist with python-2.x, it's binaries all have a 3 appended to them for exactly this reason. The only problem it has is python3-base-3.2 doesn't remove python3-3.1 (py3.1 has no base sub package like py2.7 and py3.2) and overwrites it's binaries. This is already fixed in my home: and just need to be submitted to the devel project.

Please may I push python3-3.2 to Packman.
Thanks in advance.
Dave Plater.
