you're right, I watched the buildlog and alsa is disabled on openSUSE 13.1.
I'm actually not at home, but I'll try to fix it the next days.

Hey packagers,

something is broken in openSUSE_13.1/Essentials in that
MPlayer-1.1.1+r36500 is lacking alsa support. `mplayer -ao help`
won't show alsa anymore. The MPlayer-1.1.1+r36500-3.1 package in
openSUSE_12.3/Essentials still has it.
