If you are attempting to do a full system upgrade from 12.2 to 13.1,
in my experience what works better is the "offline upgrade method",
that is, boot dvd, choose upgrade, using network repositories instead
of the DVD, right from the start. I think the Net install CD also works.
But it still leaves a lot of work to be done afterwards...
A straight "zypper dup" is bound to fail.
I've updated my oS 12.2 to 13.1 via dup. The only big issue i got was the
grub loader failure so I had to reinstall it via live cd and chroot.
However offline upgrade might be really better.
