Hello, I believe it would be a good time to add vlc-beta to packman. Unfortunately it doesn't build against ffmpeg 2.2. I tried ffmpeg 2.4 but it breaks too many things, especially vlc stable which is a deal-breaker. I suppose ffmpeg 2.3 is a good compromise, also being the same used by the official VLC repository. In order to do so, the following actions will be required: update ffmpeg and x265 patch live555 and mplayer2 add vlc-beta, libdvdnav and libdvdread The last two libraries are already at the right version in Factory, for everything else we could link to multimedia:libs or roll our own. I believe the other packages affected by the change are: amarok, ffDiaporama, ffms2, gnash, gpac, gstreamer-0_10-plugins-bad, gstreamer-plugins-bad, guvcview, k3b, libmlt, libquicktime, libvlc-qt,lightspark, mjpegtools, mpd, mpv, npapi-vlc, phonon-backend-vlc, plasmoid-webcamoid, qmmp, qmmp-plugin-pack, strigi, vlc, x264, xine-lib-12. They've all been branched and appear to build properly (at least locally, it will take some time to compile for all the repositories on PMBS). What do you think about this? Regards P.S: my previous messages didn't get through, I hope they aren't being intercepted as spam somewhere.
