Hi, I am using Gostcrypt with OpenSuSE 13.2; this morning I made an update to gostcrypt 1.3-1.1 and now I can not open my gostcrypt file, I get a message that the password is wrong, but I'm 100% definitely sure the password is correct, I used it yesterday in the evening and everything worked fine. The message I receive is "Incorrect password or not a GostCrypt volume". What can I do now? Is this a bug in the new version 1.3-1.1 or does the new version require some new packages? In YAST everything seems to be OK. Is there a way to downgrade gostcrypt to the older version I used before? The repository I use is http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/packman/suse/openSUSE_13.2/ I really hope someone can help me... Thanks in advance, martin
Yes, I know, there is an incompatibility between GostCrypt 1.3 and 1.0 containers. I wanted to add some warning message before installing the RPM (like when you have to accept a license) but I didn't find a way to do it… That's my fault, I lost patience, I shouldn't have released it, sorry - or I should have announced it (I did it only on a French-speaking forum).
If you have a Btrfs root filesystem, you can try to get back to a previous snapshot with snapper in order to get back GostCrypt 1.0.
I will build GostCrypt 1.0 in my home repository anyway, I'll let you know when it is available. Then you'll be able to install it, open your existing container with it, update again to GostCrypt 1.3, create a new container and copy your data to it.
