It says it can't encode video because it doesn't have libcuda.so. but
avidemux itself doesn't need libcuda.so, and openSUSE also never build
to use libcuda.so.

Do you have any builds of your own?
No it is the standard rpm from packman

If I try to remove it zypper says that gstreamer-plugins-bad and gstreamer-plugins-bad-codecs needs to be removed also.
