But since you mentioned kernel26, I found one example there:
# set correct depmod command for install
sed -i -e "s/KERNEL_VERSION=.*/KERNEL_VERSION=${_kernver}/g"
$startdir/kernel26.install
That is a hack, but it is practical :P
Maybe the scriptlet could be simply moved by makepkg to $srcdir like
the source files.
