*Release*
It is about time for a new release...
I made merge requests !302 and !303 today, and will push them in a
couple of days. I have reviewed all other issues and merge requests and
can not spot any that I consider essential a new release, so I think we
are ready.
Let me know if there are any issues or merge requests that I should
consider, otherwise I'll start a freeze at the end of week.
*Transifex*
I'd also like some help with managing the translations on Transifex. I
can manage the pushing/pulling of translations etc, but would like help
in managing requests to join teams or create new languages. What this
requires is:
1) looking at new language requests and seeing if they are warranted -
e.g. if we have FI and someone requests fi_FI, then there is no point
accepting that request as these are the same language.
2) looking at requests for people to join teams for existing languages.
More translators does not necessarily make better translations. I
tended to add people when languages are not fully translated.
3) we could probably do better in managing team leads - my guess is a
large proportion are no longer active.
Longer term, we probably need to move the pacman translations under an
Arch or pacman specific project as it is currently in the Toofishes
group (and they have been gone for ages!) Is Transifex even a good
solution these days.
