Greetings all I'm happy to report the complete removal of ack from our codebase, and the implementation of a completely in house and threaded Find in Files implementation.
This implementation comes with all the Task 2.0 goodies. No need for a separate process spawn, schedulable and queuable, in-flight status bar progress updates, able to support the closing of the Find in Files window while still running, and able to be aborted and restarted while in mid-execution. There's still some rough edges to the code (for example it doesn't support Project Intuition yet) and some more functionality is needed on the gui tool (double click to zoom to the match etc). But it's looking pretty usable, and if you'd like to test it (and bug fix) that would be great.
