Which version(s) of Wx and the bindings are installed? Is it a completely fresh installation? It is unfortunate that Padre does not run out of the box for you on the latest Ubuntu. Thank you for reporting the issue, I think it is important to find out the reasons for the crash and make sure that Ubuntu user get a usable version of Padre.
