Hi, Looking back at the Document.pm subversion log, text_get and text_set were added in http://padre.perlide.org/trac/changeset/208 (2 years ago by Adam Keneddy). I do not think there is any reason why we cannot add a fast text accessor and keep the old *deprecated* ones for a while. Maybe Adam can shed some light on this subject?
