By the way

Can anyone spot the flaw in the test logic

$process->run;
ok( $process->IsAlive() );

Anyway, fixed in Wx::Perl::ProcessStream 0.30 uploaded to CPAN.

Changes are only to tests so not sure anyone needs to bump up dependencies.
