To whoever, takes this up, I'll post my configure params for a Perl that will work on power pc and intel machines from Mac OSX 10.4 onwards if that's what is wanted. Beyond that you can add as much as you wish to work on - say configuring a terminal setup that gives you an /opt/Padre environment, or putting a 'Padre' starter in /Applications. But you don't actually need anything extra. As long as a user can type /opt/Padre/perl/bin/perl /opt/Padre/perl/bin/padre you don't need anything extra at all.
