I think given the amount of material out there for learning Perl, don't
see a need to teach Perl per se', however examples of using Padre to
make the most of programming in Perl is much needed.

Believe it or not, I don't know how to do that vertical alignment of the
text.

Keyboard short cuts, making Padre help my coding time be more productive
and other things I think are in Padre just aren't evident.

I still get a lot of value out of Padre with the Syntax checker running
all the time, I can see errors straight away. The F2 help works well
too, however I'm not sure it should be modal though. I should be able
to hit F2 and then drag it to the side and work in the editor while
referring to the help.

Anyway, the point is, I agree totally.

Just as vim is a very power text editor, I'm still stuck with CRTL-J to
join a line and CRTL-V to go into visual mode... but I'm stumped after
that.

I've just discovered vimcasts: http://vimcasts.org/ from following a
link mentioned in the Mojolicious screen casts blog.

I'm going to spend time on that site learning more about vim ( Padre
can't be used everywhere.. :) ).

I see a lot of value in short screen casts that cover "simple" things
like the vertical text align. How to use the auto complete, how to use
Padre's tools to make coding simpler, like opening a module in a new
editor that's referenced in a module you are working on... that sort of
thing will certainly assist not just me I expect. :)

Pete.
