Is this the case? I have heard from Alias (iirc) that threads are good
to have, but not a must.
Plus, I am not sure whether most standard Perls are non-threaded. In
the Linux world, this is not true, afaik.

Still, installation is of course an important thing to consider, even
if just a minority of our potential userbase has a problem with (no)
threads.

Do you mean external (window manager) settings, or the syntax checker
panel etc. inside Padre?
