I did not encounter such problems with Padre 0.90.

Have you tried to install Padre from subversion, to see whether the
problem persists in the development version?

Is this the only problem you encounter with Padre, or are there other
problems as well?

Did you also try dífferent version of Wx?

Which Perl version do you use? The default one shipping with Ubuntu?

Do you use a 32 or a 64 bit Ubuntu?
