Hi Moshe, The project is certainly not dead, but it's neither kicking if you pardon the cliché. The code resides now in github in the hope it will be more accessible: https://github.com/PadreIDE/Padre.
There have been *very* little activity lately, but people send bug fixes once in a while. So there was someone yesterday looking to get it built with perl 5.22.0 (Debian/Ubuntu has Padre 1.0 on its repositories with perl 5.20).
