fritz pelenkahu RULES 24th INTERNATIONAL HUMOR EXHIBITION OF PIAUÍ/BRAZIL 2006 THE HUMOR NATIONAL FOUNDATION, with the objective of stimulating and diffusing the creation of graphic designers, invites you to take part in the 24th INTERNATIONAL HUMOR EXHIBITION OF PIAUÍ/BRAZIL. DATES Submission of works: until October 27th , 2006 Exhibition opening: November 6th, 2006 PARTICIPATION Open to all professional or amateur cartoonists over 16 years of age. Each author will be allowed to submit up to three works per category. Artists from any country may participate. Employees (or their relatives) involved in the organization of the event, may not participate. CATEGORIES - Free-Theme Cartoon - Thematic Cartoon (theme: BYCICLE) - Free-Theme Political Cartoon - Free-Theme Caricature The following definitions shall be obeyed: Political Cartoon: graphic joke related to current journalistic facts. Cartoon: graphic joke about universal and timeless themes. Caricature: graphic portrait with anatomic and psychological distortions of well-known personalities. AWARDING The winner of each category will be awarded with a prize of R$ 3.500,00 (three thousand reais) and a trophy. SUBMISSION OF WORKS Techniques: - In such categories as Free-Theme Cartoon, Political Cartoon and Caricature, only unpublished and original works will be accepted, developed in any technique. No copies, of any kind ( xerox, laser or deskjet) will be accepted. - In theThematic Cartoon category the works will not have to be unpublished, and can be typed in computer. Specifications: - Free-Theme Cartoon, Political Cartoon and Caricature: 30,0cm X 40,0cm (11,8 X 15,8 inches) format - Thematic Cartoon: 30,0cm X 40,0cm (11,8 X 15,8 inches), digitalyzed in 300 DPI, color mode RGB, in format JPG (medium quality) or PDF formats, not exceeding the maximum limit of 2 MB, sent by the e-mail or recorded in CD and sent to our address (safer option). Data: v The following data must necessarily be sent: Authors full name, artistic name, complete address, telephone, e-mail, Identity card number, CPF (taxpayer number) and bank data. A summed résumé and a photo may as well be sent, though no mandatory, to the database of the exhibition. JUDGEMENT There will be one jury for the selection and another jury for the awarding composed by qualified professionals in this field and the decisions will be in all cases unappealable: If the jury finds any irregularity or plagiarism in any entered work, they will have the right to revoke the prize granted to that work. The Organizing Committee might establish other additional prizes and acknowledgments. The list of the selected and awarded works will be made known by the press and the web sites of the exhibit. In each category, a best work will be chosen according to the opinion of the visiting public. The public preference shall be assessed by the Instituto Piauiense de Opinião Pública (IPOP). No prize in money shall be awarded. The list of selected and winning works shall be made public by the press. EXHIBITION The selected works will be exhibited during the event and in traveling exhibitions. They will also be granted to publications that help the advertising of the event. SENDING OF WORKS The deadline for the sending of works will be the 27 th of October of 2006. Works sent by e-mail or mail after this date will not be admitted in any case.
