Saat ini telah banyak seniman animasi dan rumah produksi animasi di
Indonesia yang menghasilkan karya baik untuk kalangan sendiri hingga
untuk konsumsi industri animasi dunia. Berbagai lembaga pendidikan
animasi formal maupun non formal pun tumbuh dan
berkembang memperkaya dunia animasi Indonesia yang dimaksudkan untuk
memenuhi kebutuhan akan animator-animator baru. Dengan adanya berbagai
kalangan yang terlibat dalam dunia animasi Indonesia, maka sosok seni
dan industri animasi Indonesia perlu
ditampilkan agar masyarakat mengetahui perkembangan dan prospeknya di
masa depan. Untuk itulah kami menggagas sebuah acara pesta animasi
yang diberi nama
URBANIMATION yang melibatkan para praktisi di industri animasi maupun
para penikmat dan senimannya.
URBANIMATION sendiri direncanakan akan menjadi sebuah "animation FEST"
yang memfokuskan diri pada proses mencari, mensosialisasikan,
memaparkan dan mewujudkan
seni dan industri animasi di Indonesia, sekaligus mempopulerkan dan
mengedukasi masyarakat bahwa animasi BUKAN HANYA KONSUMSI ANAK-ANAK.

Although, some people are aware that there are animators and artists
whom continue to produce excellent artwork for personal entertainment
and for the industry, locally and internationally, yet animation as an
industry is still a vague nuance to the public. Event the growing
number of institutions, both formal and informal that are rising to
fulfill the demand of new animators is still a sleeper hit. Presently,
other enthusiasts from various walks of
life are also involved in its development hence it is about time to
celebrate animation and its prospect within its context as an industry
of its own.
This situation triggers us to create an event that will cover
practitioners in animation the industry and the arts, the avid
fanatics and the artists, called URBANIMATION.
URBANIMATION is drafted as the "animation fest" that is focusing on
searching, socializing, making it popular, presenting, and
materializing the world of animation in Indonesia while educating the
people that animation ISN'T JUST FOR KIDS.
