5th İSTANBUL ANIMATION AND VISUAL EFFECT SHORT FILM COMPETITION 5th İstanbul International Animation Festival is going to happen in 24th-30th of November 2008.
Who Can Apply? Everybody can apply. Only films completed after 1st of January 2007 will be accepted. Categories *IAF Grand Prize:* The best blended short film about story and animation technic. *Turk Short* Best short film made by Turk animator or animators. *Student Film:* Animation short film made by student. *First Film:* Animation short film made by a person's first experience. *Music Video:* Music video which includes one or more animation technic. *Advertisement:* Advertisement film which includes one or more animation technic. *Motion Graphic:* Animation short film by motion graphic technic. Prices Announce soon. Schedule *Application deadline:* 17th of September 2008 Wednesday until 18:00. *Announce date of accepted films:* 29nd of September Monday. Film which recieve us after deadline, aren't accepted by festival commitee. Application There is no application fee. Entry form is had to fill completely and sent with film copy. One entry form is had to fill for every film. Sending cost is paid by competitor. Attendance can join with any number of product. Separate attendances should be made for each product. Film copy have to be DVD, miniDV,16mm or 35mm. High resolution film will be preferred, because of screening in big screens. Rules The product that takes place in the competition must belong to attended person or group. If it's proved that the product doesn't belong to attended person or group it will be disqualified automatically. It is free to use film materials like film, video, photograph. Any visual effect and animation technic can be used. Any technics like 2D cartoon animation, computer aided 3D animation, stop motion animation and/or any optic, chemical, physical, digital interferences on the visual product can be made. The product can either include a certain story, characters, dialogs or not. Aesthetic and style can be chosen freely. IAF has right to show on television, theater, internet, etc. for publicity purposes, up to 10% of the running time of film. How to Win? There will be a pre-elimination to see if the product is appropriate to the competition conditions. Pre selection results will announce in 29nd of September Monday. The winners will be chosen by a jury but won't be announced until the ceramony. Awards are described in category section. If jury think no prize worthy film, jury can don't make to award.
