The Position:



? To represent flight operations in the activity of pilot selection by
providing specialized aviation knowledge and evaluative input into the
selection process for the recruitment of high quality Flight Crew to meet
the operational needs of the organisation. This will be achieved through
drawing on previous experience as a Commercial Airline Pilot to assist in
candidate evaluation and to ensure a consistent quality outcome whilst
protecting the integrity of the Emirates recruitment process and the quality
of Flight Crew recruited.



? Conduct Assessment Centre activities to assess the behavioural
competencies of candidates for Flight Crew as well as their `cultural fit`
for Emirates Group.



? Conduct competency-based behavioural interviews for Direct Entry Captains
and First Officers in accordance with the company framework and established
principles and practices. Ensure the integrity of the interview and that all
candidates are considered fairly and equitably taking into account
cross-cultural issues, sensitivities and biases.



? Fully represent the interests of the Flight Operations Department at the
Final Wash up Session to ensure that all recommended candidates meet the
department specific requirements for Direct Entry Captain and First Officers
in collaboration with all stakeholders. Where disagreements arise, utilise
negotiation strategies and take into account the views and concerns of
contributors whilst balancing those with the need for fairness, process
integrity and business requirements.



? Short-list on-line Flight Crew applicants through utilisation of technical
knowledge and scoring matrices / guidelines.



? Participate in the Induction process of new recruits as required. Conduct
tactful and diplomatic individual feedback / counselling sessions to brief
new recruits on their development areas and provide feedback on their
results from the selection process.



? Ensure licenses and logbooks of candidates are thoroughly checked to
ensure they are accurate and bona fide both at the selection and joining
stages.



? Liaise with Flight Training regards simulator assessments and scheduling
requirements.



? Support the Pilot Selection Manager, and in his/her absence the
Recruitment Manager ? Flight Operations, to ensure responsibilities are met
within the recruitment process.



? Liaise with Flight Operations training and Fleet management to continually
improve the process of selection and integration of the selected candidates
by briefing training on selected candidates and working with fleet
management to monitor progress of selected candidates. Utilising feedback to
propose improvements to the recruitment process.



? Continually work with the HR/Recruitment team to improve the process of
selection and induction of newly appointed pilots.

the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately

Experience and Qualifications:



? A higher tertiary qualification would be an advantage.

? Must have held, or currently hold an ATPL, and operated as either a First
Officer or Aircraft Captain flying internationally within a commercial
airline operation

? A minimum of 10 years airline experience, specifically in Flight
Operations

? Must be systems literate and have a knowledge of databases and internet
technology, ideally with familiarity in e-Recruitment solutions.

? Ideally have Flight Crew competency based assessment experience and
previous involvement as both an Interviewer and an Observer within
structured assessment centre processes

- This is a full-time, non-flying position.
