Menyambung informasi dari teman (lihat email dibawah), bahwa kemungkinan akan terjadi alga blooming yang beracun di daerah pesisir Sumatra Barat, tepatnya mendekati Kep. Mentawai dalam beberapa minggu ini. Upwelling sudah mulai terjadi disebabkan oleh pergerakan massa air dingin dari Selatan menuju utara pesisir Sumatra. hal ini pernah terjadi juga di tahun 1998. Mungkin temen2 yang berdekatan dengan site bisa membantu memonitor lokasi tersebut, sekaligus juga menjadi early warning system untuk teman2 yang berada di daerah sekitarnya.
