>From my posting on emulator-forum on 2/21:

==========
- We've had a couple of people internally hacking away at a UNIX version in
their spare time (sequentially, not in parallel). Unfortunately, because
doing the UNIX port is not their job, progress tends to jump at the start
and then drop off as official duties gain priority.

- It's coming up on summer time, so we might be able to get a summer intern
to work on this.

- It's possible that we can start posting the sources again, allowing
outside people to contribute to the project.

None of the above is firm, and I certainly don't have any dates to give
you. But I just wanted to let the Linuxen know that we're not completely
ignoring them.
==========

Since then, one of the guys here working on the UNIX version has been able
to make more progress. Perhaps in a few weeks we'll have something to post.

Subject:  poser for UNIX?

Has there been any work to port the official emulator back to UNIX? (Yes,
I know that xcopilot will run under UNIX but I'd rather use the official
emulator than xcopilot because of all the neat features it has gained
recently.)
If such a project exists, I'd be willing to help. If not, is there anybody
who would like to start one?
Tom
