Hello: We are pleased to announce Version 0.1 of our port of a public-domain Object Request Broker (MICO - http://www.mico.org) to the PalmOS platform. The sources, examples, and documentation are available at http://www.mico.org/pilot. This version includes a significant part of client functionality of a regular CORBA-compliant ORB. The ORB is currently available as a library that can be statically-linked to the applications and stubs. The client stubs still need to be hand-coded, but the IDL compiler backend is in the works, so that we should soon be able to use the stubs generated by the MICO IDL compiler directly with our applications. We have tested our applications on Palm IIIs and on POSE using a variety of modems including the Ricochet and Minstrel wireless modems. Feel free to post your comments, questions, and bug-reports to the MICO developers list at http://www.mico.org/FrameDescription.html#maillist. This project is run by the Stanford Digital Libraries Project (http://diglib.stanford.edu). Cheers! Samir
