Good gray contrast does not imply good black and white (b&w) contrast.

I'm using the 4 grays (2-bit) available in PalmOS 3.0. It looks all right on a Palm
III when switching between my app and the rest of the b&w apps.

When I get onto the Palm IIIx & V, once I get the contrast set to show a nice visual
progression within the 4 grays (around 4/5 of the way to high contrast) the b&w apps
get "streaky".

Hmmm... I don't see why this would be. Presumably if the contrast is
adjusted so grays look good, black and white will also have good contrast.
So that contrast setting should be appropriate when only black and white
are visible on the screen.
