I've just noticed something re. ptr allocation and I'd like to get it
confirmed.

When I run an app I see that a ptr created using the new operator (which
calls MemPtrNew?) allocates a chunk within the dynamic heap. Now, I was
always under the impression that I only have about 12K dynamic heap
available under PalmOS 2k as per the Palm documentation; but this isn't
true. I've actually got the free space of the dynamic heap available -
about 30K in normal situations. Please correct me where I'm wrong but it
seems that the 12K figure comes from the allocation for static
application data and not MemPtrNew allocations.

On another related topic, when I do an 'HD 0' a number of flags are
displayed. What are their meanings, particularly 'fm', 'fM', 'FM' etc.
I'm presuming that 'f' means fixed in memory, 'F' means that it was
fixed but now can be relocated if necessary? I couldn't find doco. on
the meanings of the flags or what that little bolded dot to the right of
the line indicates. All help appreciated.

Regards,
