Hello palm-dev-forum -

Yesterday, the following announcement was sent out to developers who have
registered in the Palm Computing platform Solution Provider program. In
case you haven't yet registered in that program, you need to do so, as this
is the mechanism by which you can get access to the Palm VII prerelease rom
and PQA development software, as well as other rom images and other
licensed items in the future.

There are other benefits of being in the Solution Provider program, but
this is certainly one of the more important ones. I highly encourage you
to sign up, and send in the license in order to be ready when the Palm VII
seeding program starts.

Dear Palm Computing platform solution provider,

We are pleased to announce the Development Resources Seeding Program.
This new program provides access to information and resources, which will
allow you to more effectively develop, debug and test your applications.
These resources include the debug and non-debug ROM's, access to
pre-release tools and other information. Access to these resources
requires that you first sign and return a Prototype License and
Confidentiality Agreement.

The Development Resources Seeding area in the Partner Pavilion already
has the debug and non-debug versions of our shipping ROM's. We will also
be adding both 2.0 and 1.0 versions shortly. Once the Palm VII connected
organizer field trial starts, we will add the Palm VII handheld
technology early access program.

For more information and for the PDF of the Prototype License and
Confidentiality Agreement, go to the Provider Pavilion and click on the
"Development Resources Seeding Program" link which will be listed under
Special Programs.

Regards,

Development Resources Seeding Program Q&A
Q: Why do I want to sign the Prototype License and Confidentiality
Agreement?

A: The benefit of having the Prototype License and Confidentiality
Agreement on file with Palm Computing Inc. is that it provides access to
updated pre-released information on software and tools. There is no
longer a need to sign a new agreement each time updated information is
added. All that is required on our part is to add an addendum that can be
in a READ ME file, email or letter.

Q: Can I sign the agreement as a clickwrap? Can I FAX it in?

A: Because the agreement covers so much, you are required to sign and
return 2 paper copies of the Prototype License and Confidentiality
Agreement. No faxes will be accepted. The good news is that you only
have to do this once. The page with the PDF of the agreement will contain
instructions on where the completed agreement should be sent.

Q: Once I submit the Prototype License and Confidentiality Agreement,
what can I expect and how will I get the information?

A: Once we receive your signed copy of the Prototype License and
Confidentiality Agreement, it will be signed by a representative of Palm
Computing, Inc. Once signed, a link under Solution Provider Member
Benefits will activated allowing access to this special information
posted.

Q: If I have already signed other license agreements and NDA's, do I need
to sign this one?

A: Yes. The Prototype License and Confidentiality Agreement is a new
document and will replace the current Debug ROM agreement.

Q: Who is authorized to sign the Prototype License and Confidentiality
Agreement for my company?

A: An individual who is authorized to sign NDA's and similar documents on
behalf of the entire company should sign the agreement. Typically, this
means an officer of the company signs it. Only one agreement per company
is required. Information posted will be accessible to all individuals
entering the Provider Pavilion using a valid user name and password.
