Unnecessary. All devices running Palm OS versions prior to 3.1 use standard alkaline
batteries.
You may be thinking NiCd support existed because of the grafitti shortcut to switch
battery types. Unfortunately, it was never fully implemented nor supported in OS
versions prior to 3.1 and does not affect the low battery thresholds or warning
dialogs.
