Normally I wouldn't post for such a thing as thus, so apologies in advance.
However, I'm at my whit's end, and I can't solve this problem. For my purposes
MetroWerks is dead in the water.
For one of my MetroWerks projects the following occurs when I try to compile
any file on the project:
1. The Build Progress Window pops up
2. <File> "foo.c" <Task> "Compiling..." status is displayed
3. Searching Us.Prefix.h status is displayed.
Then nothing. No change, the stop button is inoperative, and all can do is
kill the IDE.
This is running on Windows NT, and the Task Manager shows IDE.EXE spinning
away eating CPU, but no further progress is made. Last night I let this run
for 15 hours, in the hope it might "get over it", but no change. I tried
rebooting a couple of times, I tried deinstalling and reinstalling MetroWerks
(this is R5, without the patch). I've tried this with older revisions (from
our source repository) of the same project file. That is, I made sure it isn't
a corrupt project file. Nobody else here at AvantGo is affected by this
affliction, so it's something about my machine or me! I'm trying to avoid the
dreaded format the disk and start over, but it's coming to that.
Anyone seen this, got an idea?
thanks for any ideas...
